I'll agree with another member that your pistol's a good $1500 gun, given the right circumstances. serial numbers in the range 1 through 50,000 without letter or num- ber prefix or suffix. Or take away from it if they're cheap replacements. Even though your pistol is a parts gun, those two items can add to its value. I'd be curious as to what kind of barrel your pistol has, also what kind of magazine. People have been cobbling together pistols like yours almost from the time the 1911 came into existence. I'll usually just refer to pistols like this as a parts gun. Speaking for myself only, I seldom even use the term "mixmaster". I think "fake" is too strong a word for pistols like this. There's all kinds of detailed information online about serial numbers, serial number ranges, and so on. Looking up the serial number is always the first step I take when researching information about a gun. As you've already discovered, the forum members here are the people you need to talk to when researching your pistol.įor me, the serial number was/is the giveaway that it really isn't an Ithaca.
